Awards Eligibility for 2020

Dear friends and enemies! The single weirdest year of my life is drawing to a close, and that can mean only one thing: YEAR END AWARD ELIGIBILITY ROUND UP POST. Let’s do this.

In 2020, I had eight pieces of fiction published:

  1. “Rocket Man”, in Interzone #286; one of Strange HorizonsShort Fiction Treasures

  2. “Escape Plan”, in “Future Digital Threats to Democracy” by Center for a New American Security

  3. Baboon, Brain, Brick” in The New Modality Issue One.

  4. Miss Bulletproof Comes out of Retirement”, in GigaNotoSaurus; one of A.C. Wise’s favorite stories of 2020

  5. Everybody’s Got a Hungry Heart“, in Translunar Travelers Lounge, Issue Three

  6. “Just in Time”, in Write Ahead/The Future Looms Vol. 11

  7. “Baba Yaga’s Apprentice”, in Dear Leader Tales

  8. Go Paleo!” in Sci Phi Journal 2020/4 – Winter Issue

Each of these stories is eligible for the Hugos, Nebulas, and similar awards in the short story category. “Rocket Man” and “Just in Time” were published in Britain, and “Go Paleo!” in Europe, for awards with regional publication requirements. Finally, this is my second and final year of Astounding Award eligibility.

Thanks for reading, friends, all the way through such a difficult year. I’ll see you all in 2021!
